Backseat Conceptions is a multi-faceted company, specializing in producing, marketing and promoting film and video projects, multi-media content and live events. While mainly catering to a younger, edgier audience, we provide our clients with unique, eclectic marketing strategies, tending to the special needs of their project. Besides collaborating on outside properties, Backseat Conceptions has produced several in-house feature films, shorts and music videos.

Locations
Backseat can find and book locations that meet your criteria. After years of shooting in all-types of situations Backseat knows a good location has more than the right look. From booking & location clearances to cleanup & garbage removal BC will find you a location that will work.

Carpentry, Prop & Set Design
Backseat has a small in-house workshop and carpenter who has created props and sets for dozens of projects ranging from fashion shows to film sets. Services available vary including: standard carpentry, to office and living space design as well as custom assembly, special effect devices and custom camera rigging.

Post Production
We've edited over 12 feature films, as well as countless shorts, TV shows, commercials and documentaries. We can quickly and competently edit your project. See the facilities section below for a full breakdown of our post-production capabilities.

SPFX Make-up & Effects
For the last seven years BC's in-house SPFX technician has created numerous effects for countless projects. Doug Sakmann is well known for his tireless work ethic and SPFX skills. If your production requires a special effect Doug can find a way to do it safely, effectively and impressively. Production Facilities

Audio Recording Studio Backseat Conceptions sports a professionally designed sound studio. Designed for voice over recordings but big enough to accommodate a five piece band, the studio is equipped with: -8 input link to a external digital workstation suitable for vocal mics, instrument mics, amp outputs, etc. -Talkback & playback between the external workstation and the recording room. -Monitor set-up for "looping" along with video playback. - Soundproofing and padded angled walls for an acoustically friendly recording environment.

Production Offices
Backseat Conceptions' offices are optimal for an independent film which needs to quickly secure temporary office space. We can accommodate up to 6 production personnel in the office. There are 4 phone lines and all of the business quality printing, faxing, scanning, CD/DVD burning and shipping services that one would expect in an office as well as extras that other offices might not have including:
- print-to-fax
- ftp server
- fax & SMS broadcasting
- intranet file servers
- cross platform compatibility
- download stations for all flash media.
For support, Backseat can provide your production with a receptionist, interns, etc. The Backseat office also sports a large private parking lot which can accommodate multiple equipment trucks and safe guest parking.

Film and Photo Studios The Backseat office has a 12'x20' wide "photo-wall". The wall can be colored white, black or green and is optimum for simple photo shoots like head shots or character stills. We also regularly build small sets in the studio space. Additionally there's a make-up area, which can accommodate three subjects at a time. Camera work is complimented by the large size of the Backseat office. The camera can be as far as it needs to be from the subject and the 17' ceilings allow for comfortable high angle shots. Additionally, Backseat has recently opened an independent theater space, the 941 Theater in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia, several blocks from the Backseat office. This space is a multi-use venue and is available for rentals for film and video shoots (with ample space for set building) as well as film & dailies screenings and much more. Post Production Facilities
Whether you need a local hub to digitize, upload, log and transfer your footage to another post-production facility or need a full edit suite, we've got you covered. The Backseat office has PC and Mac capabilities and we utilize the latest editions of Adobe Production Suite and Final Cut Pro in our workflow. With these powerful workflow oriented tools and programs, our editors can also work with Avid and FCP systems and can handle all HD formats, natively.

Backseat has regular contracts with a wide variety of companies outside of Philadelphia. Using next generation online dalies we can track our client's input and integrates it onto our editors timeline over the internet almost instantaneously. So whether you're in Downtown Philadelphia or Frankfurt, Germany we can work with you like you're sitting next to us.

A main element that sets Backseat apart from other mid-size post production houses is that each project goes through one of our main producers, so as a client you work with a team and not a lone editor.
