Backseat just returned from North Carolina, co-producing a feature length movie with another Philly based production company, Get-Kinetic with producer Dana Michael and Director of Photography Kevin Hackenberg. Directed by Joshua Coates and Executive Produced by Christina Marie and Pure Times Magazine, this unique faith based horror movie featured Nick Esposito as production manager, Phil Rush as Assistant Director and Doug Sakmann creating and coordinating all the Special Effects and Production Design. The Backseat crew filled in most of the main production team with Mark Yancey (Gaffer) DJ Remcheck (Best Boy) Jeff Bell (Grip/Swing), Joe Narode (Script Supervisor/Continuity), Mason Williams (Location Manager) and Joe Paciotti, Lou Rangel and Lizzie Baker as Production Assistants. Get-Kinetic brought in the Camera Department with Joe Hennigan as AC and Sound Recorder Doug Horvat. We had a lot of cool effects including some special snake prosthetics designed by Christina Puff of Black Bird SPFX, a giant snake puppet fabricated by Chris Hillman, Snake Tattoos Designed by Mark Quinnette, fangs provided by Tom Velez of CustomFangs.com and Snake Eye contacts designed by Kevin Carter of 9mmsfx.com!
Along with a team of local assistance in North Carolina brought together by director Joshua Coates, we worked for 13 days straight all over the Raleigh area under intense weather conditions to shoot the movie. We have additional days scheduled in Philadelphia in the coming months, and the movie is set to be released theatrically this October!
