About the NYC organizers:
The NYC Zombie Crawl team sets up zombie walks and zombie themed
events in the NY Area as well as provides zombie SFX makeup for film productions and nationally
touring acts. Doug Sakmann and his team has personally created & coordinated
zombie makeup and events including the Tribeca Film Festival, the Today
Show on NBC, the cast of Bravo Network's 'Step It Up and Dance' (To promote
Sony Records' 25th Anniversary Re-release of Michael Jackson's Thriller), NYC Comic Con,
the band New Found Glory and much more. The NYC Zombie Crawl team has also hosted and promoted many zombie film releases over the years, including 'Diary of the Dead' and 'Zombieland' amongst others. With the NYC Zombie Crawl makeup crew,
Sakmann has zombified massive crowds of zombie lovers in NYC, at one point
totaling over 350 zombies in one day!
Zombie
Ringleader – Doug
Sakmann
Having been in various states of life and afterlife throughout his film
career, being a zombie comes naturally to Doug. After getting killed in
Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger 4 and playing the Zombie leader in Mulva:
Zombie Ass Kicker, he went on to play an undead killing machine in the
Punk Rock Holocaust
series. Behind the camera, Sakmann has nearly 10 years of SPFX experience,
having created effects for several feature films and many other projects
and live events, most recently creating a “Post-Mortem
Pinups” photo series. Inspired by the Philly
Zombie Crawl and a love of all things dead and undead, Sakmann is
gathering all his ghoulish friends together to take a bloody bite out
of the Big Apple!

Rated
X: The Panty Party – Hosted by Theo and Michael T-
It’s going into the 6th year for NYC’s infamous and scandalous
panty party with the usual debauchery, including the 2am “Hot Body
Contest” and drink deals for pantless patrons. Take advantage of
great drink specials, including the open vodka bar between 10pm and 11pm
and happy hour between 3am and 4am, with two-for-one domestic beers and
shots and $4 mixed well drinks.
The Beauty Bar - The Original Beauty Bar Served it's First cocktail in the spring of 1995 at the former "Thomas Beauty Salon". Paul Devitt found the forty year old salon, and converted it into a one if a kind beauty "saloon". The ever-eclectic crowd now gathers under the same chrome-domed hair dryers where blue-haired ladies were groomed and gossiped for decades. Under the direction of Michael Stewart, the Beauty Bar plays host to the annual "Zombie Beauty Pageant" and hosts NYC Zombie Crawl events amongst many other rockin parties!
Post-Mortem
Pinups - Femme Fatales in Fatal Positions
A series of Post-Mortem photography by Doug Sakmann. Though some may make
the unfortunate mistake of judging these images as being morbid, those
with an open mind can see the true beauty beneath the gore. Recent victims
include Melodie Gore, Page Morgan, Riley Mason, Chapel Waste, Joanna Angel,
Gia Paloma, Morgan Mae and Draven Star.
Backseat
Film Festival - The Drinking Man's Film Festival - Now in
its seventh year, the Backseat Film Festival is a rock ‘n roll film
fest devoted to the best in edgy, unpretentious movies from all over the
cinematic globe. An electrifying mix of zany short films, sleazy music
videos, unrelenting documentaries and some of the most exciting feature
film premieres around, the Backseat Film Festival is a showcase for movies
that embody the youthful, exhilarating spirit of rock ‘n roll. No
postmodern love-stories or heavy-handed political statements here, just
a lot of zombies, hot chicks, bad jokes and great music. And also, a hell
of a lot of booze.
Strip
For Pain: America’s Most Dangerous Gameshow –
This exciting live game show features contestants competing against each
other by withstanding increasing levels of various forms of pain including
but not limited to electrocution, fire, asphyxiation, kicks in the balls,
nipple clamps, leather whips, paddles and MUCH more. The more pain the
contestants take, the less clothes the girls wear! The winner of this
twisted competition receives a lap dance courtesy of the girls of BurningAngel.com!
The Living
Dead Girlz - Goreriffic Zombie Dance Troupe from San Francisco!
The Living Dead Girlz are technically “dance splatter theater,”
incorporating complex choreography created to display a moral story within
their shows. The LDG uses tongue n’ cheek attitude, specializing
in commercial jazz, sock hop, cha cha, chairdancing, and tango/waltz.
