Sat, March 28th - Found Footage Festival with Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher

The Found Footage Festival is a one-of-a-kind event that showcases footage from videos that were found at garage sales and thrift stores and in warehouses and dumpsters throughout the country. Curators Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher host each screening in-person and provide their unique observations and commentary on these found video obscurities. From the curiously-produced industrial training video to the forsaken home movie donated to Goodwill, the Found Footage Festival resurrects these forgotten treasures and serves them up in a lively celebration of all things found.

Saturday, April 11th - Flauf Productions Presents:
Consider the Source, Electric Avant Garde West Philly Orchestra, Igor’s Nest

Consider the Source - Jam Band / Progressive / Psychedelic Three musicians converging on an epic plateau of sound and reflex. Three conscious minds communicating on subconscious levels. Consider the Source is one voice born of three distinct personalities. Their music is aggressive and yet serene, powerful, and honest. They play what they feel and demand your full attention. Love 'em or hate 'em, the one thing they won't let you do is ignore them.

The West Philadelphia Orchestra (WPO) is up to 15 of Philadelphia's best and most daring musicians, from all different backgrounds (jazz, classical, experimental, indie), playing music, much of it Romani, from Romania, Hungary, Serbia, and Macedonia. The Electric Avant Garde version will be performing at the 941 Theater, a scaled down Electronic version of the full WPO experience.

Thursday, April 16th – Leslie and the Lys Return! - Village Green Presents

"I get offers for sex when I'm onstage, sweating, but it's hard because 99 percent of the people screaming are gay men," says Leslie Hall of Leslie and the Ly's. Ferocious rapper, fashion icon, gem-sweater rescuer and passionate performer Hall first captured the hearts of Internet users everywhere with her bizarre homemade videos and debut album, Gold Pants. The record -- chock-full of catchy jams and horrifying piano ballads -- which she distributed from her bedroom, has taken on a life of its own. Fans flock in cultish bedazzled droves to witness Hall and her backup girls (Dr. Laura and Classy K) tear into their staples "Danga Stranga" and "Zombie Killer." The self-proclaimed "founding father" of gem-sweater history and knowledge also spends time onstage with fans who bring sweaters to her shows. Hall blesses the clothes. "I take a minute for each one and put my hand on it," she explains. "It's a chance for me to tell them what they have, because they don't know." Hall has also been featured on the hit kids' show "Yo Gabba Gabba" several times!

Friday, April 24th – Eye of the Tiger, Thrill of the Fight - Screening Party

It's a movie about love, a desire to see people suffer, 18 inches of man meat, an asian named Frogger, a lesbian named Fishtown, a white boy named Boom, a church brawl that ends in the death of Miss Iris, a crackhead-junky-stalking-sister to a 12 step homogay named Tiki..... and that's not the half of it.

Sat, May 2nd- Black Landlord w/ Captain Smokes and The Shotguns - Village Green Presents

Black Landlord
"This is a project started by Maxx (formerly of the Goats and Incognegro). It is a TRUE collective. The idea began 4yrs ago with friends and super-electro producers Leonard de Leonard and Olaf Hund. They worked together in Paris and Berlin, writing songs and daydreaming about how to bring talented people together. So, after learning German, some ghetto French and drinking great beer, Maxx returned home to Philly and put a live band together and the end result was a diverse mix of Philly All-Stars."

with
Captain Smokes and The Shotguns
"Captain Smokes is back. Its been a long and strange trip but he got the original Shotguns lineup back together and clam baked the studio to create some new tune-age. (Bud Hempfield--Guitar, Herb Roller--Keyboard, Omar Hashish--Bass, Screenz--Drums) Captain Smokes & The Shotguns is simply pleasure in your ears after you pleasured your lungs. The Captain pleasures himself everytime he hears himself. He's travelled the world, studied with Zanga and puffed great plants in many foreign countries. The Captain still doesn't have any tattoos and plans on keeping it that way. Nothing more to prove. Nothing more to say. Just peace and all good things. Come groove to the best live show on planet Earth."
