Play Dead Viral Campaign for Simon and Schuster
Backseat recently created a viral marketing campaign for Simon and Schuster Publishing to promote the new zombie football novel ‘Play Dead’ written by Ryan Brown.
The campaign involved creating a faux movie trailer as well as marketing, branding and graphic elements for “Play Dead: The Movie“. Under the direction of Doug Sakmann, 12 select scenes from the novel were transcribed to script form and shot using a Canon Rebel T2i. From this footage, a mainstream and “Redband’ version of the trailer were created.
Additionally, a behind the scenes reality feature called ‘The Living Play Dead’ was produced and directed by Joe Frantz (MTV’s Jackass, Viva La Bam, Bam’s Unholy Union) to be released as supplemental material for the viral campaign.
